PALAZZO TALÌA

2024

LOCATION: ROME, ITALY

Architect: STUDIO LUCA GUADAGNINO

PHOTOGRAPHY: GIULIO GHIRARDI

Nestled in the heart of Rome – precisely on Via del Nazareno, just steps from the Pantheon and the Trevi Fountain – Palazzo Talìa opened this summer in all its splendor. Originally the residence of Angelo Maria Colocci, a 16th-century intellectual and papal secretary, the building later became the Collegio Nazareno, Rome’s oldest school, and throughout the 20th century, it evolved into a luxury hotel.

The lighting design was conceived to enhance this layered history, bringing out the richness of the Renaissance architecture and the refined materials of the restoration, while preserving the intimacy and sophistication expected of a five-star experience. Warm, carefully modulated light guides guests through a series of narrative spaces – from the rooms to the common areas – creating soft, welcoming atmospheres that never overpower. This is a project where light becomes a storytelling tool, connecting past and present in a renewed vision of hospitality.
